Under the direction of Master Brian McCann, Self Defense Academy has won numerous awards both locally and Nationally for its outstanding curriculum in the Korean Martial art of Hapkido.

Our emphasis at SDA is on 100% self defense. Our dynamic concepts are based on scientific principles of Anatomy and bio mechanics. We teach traditional Hapkido with a modern approach.

Men, Women, and Children of all ages and size will benefit greatly because physical strength and athletic abilities are not essential. The emphasis is on redirecting the assailants aggression and power back toward them with little effort and minimum force on your part. We are the answer for individuals and parents who seek to learn a realistic form of self defense for themselves and their children.

Master Brian McCann

Master McCann has 18 plus years of training in the various styles of Hapkido which range from traditional styles to Combat and Defensive styles. He has received direct training from Grand Master Frank Noguera, Grand Master Chong Min Lee and Grand Master Moo Young Kang solidifying his Fourth Degree Master Instructor status. Brian continues to study under GM Noguera, one of the most respected American GM’s in the United States and GM Kang, one of the highest and most seinor ranking Korean GM’s today.
